The Border Gate, Portas do Cerco in Portuguese, sits at the northern tip of the Macau Peninsula, facing Gongbei Port on the Zhuhai side. It is a pedestrian crossing: a private car cannot drive through it, so you walk across with your bags and we pick you up on the Macau side.
From the Border Gate to the hotels on the Peninsula usually takes ten to fifteen minutes, and Taipa or Cotai about ten minutes more. This is Macau's busiest crossing, and on weekend and holiday evenings the time it takes to get through can more than double, so we work on 'message us when you are out' rather than a fixed time.
Keep in mind that you push your own luggage through the crossing. With a lot of bags, ask us about a cross-border car instead.
How the pickup works
The Border Gate is a pedestrian crossing, so you walk through immigration with your bags. Message us when you are out and the driver meets you at the agreed point on the Macau side.
Before you set off
- ◆Message us once you are through and the car comes to the agreed pickup point, so you are not standing in the crowd.
- ◆Qingmao Port is right next to the Border Gate. When it is quieter, the driver may suggest meeting you there instead.
- ◆More than two suitcases? Ask about a cross-border car, which saves pushing them through the crossing yourself.
