Plenty of trips go like this: take the cross-border shuttle bus from Hong Kong over the bridge, clear the Macau port, and only then start working out how to reach the hotel. On busy days the taxi queue at the port can take half an hour, and the free casino shuttles only go to their own resorts. Booking a car ahead, so you collect your bags and go, is the easiest way to do this leg.
The Macao Port sits on the artificial port island at the Macau end of the bridge, about twenty minutes from the Peninsula hotels and around fifteen from Cotai, faster late at night. The driver waits at an agreed exit, which we confirm by message beforehand, so there is no searching when you arrive.
The shuttle buses from Hong Kong run 24 hours and leave often, but immigration queues rise and fall, so arrival times can shift by tens of minutes. Message us when you are out and the car comes round. That works better than waiting on a fixed time.
How the pickup works
Clear immigration at the Macao Port, message us that you are out, and the driver brings the car to the agreed exit.
Before you set off
